This summer, kids 6 to 18 can get their own wheels for only $20. That’s the price for 30 days of unlimited travel on all fixed-route OC Buses. With the Youth Summer Pass, kids have the freedom to travel throughout the county to places like the beach, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the Santa Ana Zoo.
To identify destinations appealing to young riders, OCTA turned to its Teen Council, a group of high school students who engage in transportation-related discussions and projects with OCTA staff and their peers. Their selections are highlighted along with corresponding bus routes on the Youth Summer Pass webpage.
New this year is a photo contest that encourages pass holders to snap, share and win by taking a selfie with a special decal onboard select OC Buses. Weekly prizes include gift cards and tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm.
Among other purchase options, this year the Youth Summer Pass is available on the OC Bus mobile app. OCTA is one of the first transportation agencies in the country that allows riders to purchase specialty passes on their smartphones.
