As part of OC Bus 360°, a plan to improve the bus system from all angles, OCTA is evaluating its fare policy and is seeking public input on the following proposed adjustments:
- Reduce the Day Pass to $4 from $5 (already approved for a six-month promotional period)
- Eliminate the 5 Ride Pass and 7-Day Pass
- Increase the fare from $2 to $4 for express routes that travel within Orange County and increase the fare from $6 to $7 for express routes that travel to neighboring counties
- Enforce reduced fare eligibility requirements at point of sale for seniors and people with disabilities
Following feedback from ACCESS riders, the OCTA Board of Directors removed from consideration a zone-based fare plan that increased the cost for the longest paratransit trips.
The last of three community meetings on the fare policy change proposals will take place on October 18 at 6 p.m. at the Rancho Santiago Community College District Office in Santa Ana at 2323 N. Broadway. The location is served by OC Bus Routes 53, 60, and 83.
Public feedback will be reviewed and considered as OCTA develops the final fare policy adjustment plan. Final recommendations are expected to go to the Board in November. For more information about the proposed changes, please click here.
