Visit Whales & Swallows and Get Metrolink Discounts

March is a great month to hop aboard a Metrolink train with your family to visit two of California’s most enduring and enchanting forms of wildlife – the California grey whales and the San Juan Capistrano swallows.

Dedicated to the return of the California grey whales as they migrate from Baja to Mexico, the Festival of Whales in Dana Point will wrap up its second weekend on March 11 and 12. The event is packed with great stuff, including whale watching tours; click here for the rundown of the festivities provided by the Orange County Register.  Show your Metrolink ticket at Dana Wharf and get your whale watching excursion for 50% off! Learn more here.

On March 25, the city of San Juan Capistrano celebrates the annual return of the tiny swallows from Argentina. Join the fun at the Swallows Day Parade and Mercado, just a short walk from the Metrolink station. Enter here to win free Metrolink tickets.

The Metrolink Weekend Day Pass is only $10 for unlimited rides all day Saturday or Sunday. Three children ride free with an adult using a valid ticket.  Get your tickets in advance with your smartphone using Metrolink’s mobile ticketing app; download it here. You can also get tickets at the station vending machine the day of your journey. Please remember that tickets are not sold onboard.
