Upcoming Events and Classes with Bicycle-Friendly Appeal

October is shaping up to be a fine time to spend more time on your bicycle while learning more about how to stay safe on the road.

At RE:Imagine Garden Grove on Oct. 10, you can experience open streets by day and stay into the night while enjoying a mile of car-free streets, music, art, games, workshops and more. Stop by to learn how to use an OCTA bus bike rack and consider using your bicycle as part of your daily commute.

If you have a young driver in your family, drop by the Teen Driver Safety Fair on Oct. 10 in Mission Viejo sponsored by the Automobile Club of Southern California. We’ll be teaching new drivers about bicycling safety and how they can help makes the streets safer for all road users.

The Orange County Bicycle Coalition will host two three-hour courses as part of the CyclingSavvy program of American Bicycling Education Association. Truth & Techniques of Traffic Cycling will be offered on Oct. 16, followed by Train Your Bike on Oct. 17. Classes are in Irvine.
