Transit Ambassadors Share Changes with Bus Passengers

Big changes are coming to OC Bus on October 9. The 2016 October Bus Service Change will bring more frequent arrivals, better connections, additional stops, new community shuttles, a lower-priced Day Pass during a six-month promotional period, and opportunities to purchase more passes via mobile ticketing. In some areas where ridership is low, routes have been reduced or discontinued and service reallocated to enhance the efficiency of the overall system. All are part of OC Bus 360°, an initiative to improve bus service from all angles.

To inform Orange County about the changes, OCTA is reaching out to the community in a wide variety of ways, including the Transit Ambassador Program. Transit Ambassadors are members of our administrative staff who volunteer to ride the buses and stand at bus stops to share information and answer questions. This face-to-face interaction promotes awareness and understanding and allows riders to easily discuss concerns. Riders can also get individualized assistance from OCTA’s helpful, trained Customer Information Center operators at (714) 636-RIDE (7433).

Our Transit Ambassadors will be on buses and at bus stops through October 12.
