Rideshare Week encourages Orange County residents to take the bus or train, vanpool, carpool, bike, walk, or telework instead of driving alone. This annual campaign reflects OCTA’s dedication to helping residents find efficient, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective ways to travel within and beyond Orange County, reducing the number of cars on the road and contributing to cleaner air for all.
As part of the campaign, more than 3,000 residents pledged to share the ride at least once for a chance to win prizes. More than a third opted to receive future updates from OCTA, demonstrating ongoing interest in transportation programs and alternative ways to travel.
A new feature this year, the Rideshare Quiz, added an innovative way to engage participants by helping them choose the rideshare method that best fits their commute. The quiz attracted nearly 500 participants, with most selecting the bus (39%) or carpooling (21.9%) as their preferred mode.
Bus travel (30.7%) was the top choice among all pledges, followed by carpooling, walking, and biking or e-biking, highlighting strong community interest in sustainable and cost-effective travel.
