Here’s one for the record books: At the end of last month, the Angels Express closed out the season with more than 54,000 boardings, nearly 24 percent ahead of last year and the highest ridership ever since launching in 2011. The Angels also had 30 wins on nights the express service was in place, besting last year’s high-water mark of 28.
Thanks to this Metrolink train service, fans from Orange County, Los Angeles, Oceanside and Riverside had the opportunity to see those games and many others for only $7 roundtrip while avoiding traffic hassles and parking expenses.
The Angels Express is a partnership of OCTA and Metrolink in cooperation with the Riverside County Transportation Commission, LA Metro and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC), which provides funding to projects that remove vehicles from the roadways resulting in reduced emissions.
