The West Half of Seal Beach Blvd. Bridge Expected to Open Sept. 15

The West County Connectors project will reach another exciting milestone in less than two weeks.

On Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m., the newly reconstructed west half of the Seal Beach Boulevard Bridge is expected to open to motorists after being restored to two lanes in each direction.

After a year of construction, crews will prepare for the opening of the bridge with several closures to restripe the surrounding intersections and freeway on- and off-ramps to match the new four-lane configuration.

An extended closure will be required to grade, pave and restripe the roadway and modify signal timing in the final hours before the bridge opens Sunday morning. This closure will be from 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept.  15.

More detailed information regarding the extended closure can be found at www.octa.net/SealBeachBridge.
