Work is underway on the OC Streetcar Project to prepare for the installation of tracks for the streetcar. Orange County’s first modern electric streetcar will run for 4.15 miles between the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center and Garden Grove.
The first section of tracks will be installed in Santa Ana between Bristol Street and Raitt Street on Santa Ana Boulevard, and work is expected to last for approximately six months. For the duration of this work, residents will still have access to their driveways, and community members will continue to have access to businesses along the corridor. However, there are some lane and parking closures in place.
OCTA hosted a virtual open house on Wednesday, Aug.19, to provide information and answer questions from the community about this stage of the project. The team gave a presentation on what to expect from the upcoming activities. The event was recorded in English and Spanish, and can be viewed here.
