In January, OCTA marked the 20th anniversary of taking over ownership and operations of the 91 Express Lanes, which in Orange County consists of 10 miles in each direction between SR-55 in Anaheim and Riverside County.
The most recent annual report reflects the continued growth of this safe, reliable option for drivers traveling between Orange and Riverside counties.
Following the challenges of the pandemic, the 91 Express Lanes is stronger than ever. In fiscal year 21-22, customers took 19.8 million trips, the highest traffic volume ever recorded on the 91 Express Lanes. In addition, accounts rose by 4.8 percent.
OCTA delivered new 6C transponders to all account holders and provided easier access to account information and customer service via the new state-of-the-art back-office system. Bond ratings are unchanged and continue to be the highest in the industry.
In addition, OCTA funds projects throughout the State Route 91 corridor to improve regional transportation for everyone.
