Taking Metrolink to the Swallows Parade Reduces Traffic, Parking Hassles

Each year in March, tiny swallows begin to arrive at San Juan Capistrano after winging hundreds of miles from Argentina. To celebrate these world-famous birds and the colorful history of its landmark Mission, the City of San Juan Capistrano rolls out the largest non-motorized parade in the nation and holds a street fair with hundreds of vendors. Other activities include live music, crafts, demonstrations and more.

This year, the Swallows Day Parade and Mercado will be conducted on March 22. Taking Metrolink to this popular event helps take cars off the road and reduces traffic and parking hassles. Train travelers can save with a $10 Weekend Day Pass, valid system-wide for multiple trips on Saturday or Sunday. In addition, youth 17 and under ride free on weekends.

To encourage ridership on public transportation, OCTA is offering a chance to win two roundtrip Metrolink tickets. For more information, visit here.
