For many, the holidays are an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. Metrolink offers many opportunities to do just that.
The train sails right past the holiday traffic and eliminates the stress of parking in an overfull lot. On weekends, travelers can take advantage of the Metrolink Weekend Day Pass for unlimited rides system-wide on Saturday or Sunday for only $10.
Here are some winter trip ideas:
-
Ride Metrolink to Anaheim and catch a free ride on the shuttle to Downtown Disney and experience its transformation into a "Winter Village" with an outdoor ice rink, live performances, holiday decorations and more. Lots of unique stores make it easy to find the right gift for hard-to-please person on your list.
-
Ride Metrolink to the San Clemente Pier, make a snowman out of sand, grab lunch at one of the nearby restaurants, and do some holiday shopping in the little boutiques in the downtown area.
- Ride Metrolink to the City of Orange, grab lunch at Ruby’s Diner and walk to the plaza to enjoy the large tree and holiday decorations. Dozens of antique shops and specialty stores line the streets, which makes it great for holiday shopping!
Please note that there will be no service on the Orange County, Inland Empire-Orange County, or 91 lines on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) or New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). However, full regular service will be in effect for all lines on the days leading up to and after the holidays.
