Ever taken the train to a baseball game? For both newbies and experienced riders, July is a great month to climb aboard. That’s because two noteworthy events occur this month. July ushers in the annual Angels Express Kids Ride Free promotion for July and August. And Metrolink will offer special train service July 13-15 from OC to LA to watch the Angels play the Dodgers. Both allow you to catch the game in person without the hassle and frustration of freeway traffic and expensive parking, and you get the fun of riding with fellow fans.
During July and August, kids 18 and under ride free on the Angels Express. This year, 15 games are eligible. It’s a great way to take the whole family out to the ballgame, especially if you take advantage of the half-priced tickets available for select games. Angels Express serves all Angels weekday home games starting at 7:07 p.m. with Metrolink trains from Los Angeles and Orange counties, and on Fridays from Riverside County. Only $7 roundtrip for adults and $6 for seniors/disabled. Learn more about the Angels Express here.
Southern California rivals Angels and Dodgers square off July 13 to 15, and thanks to special Metrolink train service you can get there easily with no traffic worries. Special $7 round-trip tickets can be purchased the day of the game at the ticket machines along the Orange County Line. Tickets for seniors/disabled are $6. Kids age 18 and younger ride free to all Rail Series games. Rail Series trains will depart Oceanside for L.A. Union Station, making all stops except San Clemente Pier and Commerce.
