Seven Treasures Promotion & Expanded Metrolink Service Start Summer Off Right

Throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties, cool destinations close to Metrolink stations abound. From the Walk of Fame in Hollywood to the beaches of San Clemente and Oceanside, there are treasures waiting to be discovered by train.

This summer, OCTA highlights these gems with the Seven Summer Treasures promotion and sweepstakes. An interactive map makes it easy to select a destination and read detailed descriptions of the fun activities that await.

To make the promotion even more enticing, there are numerous opportunities to win hundreds of prizes, including Disneyland® tickets.

Nearly 1,000 participants have already entered the sweepstakes for a chance to win one of many weekly prizes and a grand prize package. In addition, dozens of photos have been shared as part of the Seven Summer Treasures photo contest.

Beginning July 5, new Metrolink service between Riverside, Orange County and Los Angeles will make these and other destinations even more accessible.

The new Metrolink service on the 91 Line will offer weekend trains from Downtown Riverside to Los Angeles, with stops along the way at La Sierra, North Main Corona, West Corona, Fullerton, Buena Park and Norwalk.

The service offers riders access to attractions near Orange County stops such as downtown Fullerton and Knott’s Berry Farm. Heading into L.A.’s Union Station, riders can transfer to the Red, Purple, Expo or Gold lines for access to attractions such as Universal Studios, Old Town Pasadena and others.

The first weekend train leaves Downtown Riverside at 7:40 a.m. and the last return train stops there at 8:55 p.m. Click here for a complete schedule.
