Service Animal Training Day Promotes Independence

Twice a year, OCTA offers free training to help service animals become more familiar with public transportation. When these special companions are comfortable with the sounds, movement and layout of a bus or train, it increases the independence and confidence of their handlers.

Last month, participants began their day at ARTIC Station, where they were encouraged to take unlimited rides on an OCTA bus, including the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney District® and Anaheim Garden Walk®, with an option to add a Metrolink® train journey to their training program.

Animals and owners come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, forming trusting teams to expand their horizons using public transportation.
