The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) will convene a public hearing at its board of directors meeting on June 14, 2013 to address the anticipated budget gap for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on July 1, 2013.
The public hearing will address the following proposals:
- Implementation of a system-wide average fare increase of up to 7 percent for all fare media types except the Weekend Pass;
- Modify the Weekend Pass to the Weekend Day Pass valid for system-wide travel on either Saturday or Sunday for $10;
- Amendment of the Personal Care Attendant free ride policy; and
- Adoption of policy thresholds for major service and fare changes that affect minority riders and low-income riders.
Comments may be submitted online and by mail prior to the date of the public hearing. Comments will also be accepted orally or in writing at the public hearing in Los Angeles on June 14. Five public workshops have been scheduled to inform the public about the proposed fare and policy changes, and to provide an opportunity for public comment. The first workshop will be held at the Santa Ana Station on June 4 at 6 p.m.
