Proposed OC Bus Fare Policy Adjustments: Tell Us What You Think

As part of OC Bus 360°, a comprehensive plan to improve and sustain bus service and enhance the customer experience, OCTA is evaluating its fare policy and is seeking public input on the following proposed adjustments:

  • Reduce Day Pass fare from $5 to $4
  • Eliminate underutilized passes (5-Rides & 7-Day)
  • Recategorize and increase fare on express routes (Routes 206, 211, 212, 213, 216, 701, 721, and 794)
  • Implement zone-based ACCESS fares
  • Enforce reduced fare eligibility requirements at point of sale

Already approved for a six-month promotional period beginning with the 2016 October Bus Service Change on October 9, the reduced Day Pass price is expected to increase ridership by 600,000 boardings over the six months. It is the first time in OCTA’s history that a fare has been decreased.
