OCTA continues to strengthen its commitment to a reliable and sustainable transit system with the OC Bus service updates on August 10. These changes are part of OCTA’s routine schedule and route evaluations, conducted several times a year to ensure service remains responsive to the needs of Orange County riders.
This round of updates includes increased frequency on several high-demand routes and schedule adjustments aimed at improving on-time performance system-wide. An extended summer schedule on Route 1 will also remain in place through November 2025, enhancing weekend reliability during peak travel periods. Additionally, minor timing refinements based on rider feedback help fine-tune service for greater efficiency.
In total, the service improvements will add approximately 31,000 annual vehicle service hours, bringing the system’s total to 1.59 million. This investment reflects OCTA’s ongoing efforts to deliver a balanced, high-quality public transportation network for the region.
