OCTA and Caltrans are set to mark the completion of the northern segment of the State Route (SR) 57 Freeway Northbound Widening Project. An event to celebrate the completion is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Brea Mall.
OCTA and Caltrans delivered the project on time and on budget by working with project area cities including Fullerton, Placentia, Brea and Yorba Linda, as well as stakeholders Brea Mall and California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).
The project adds capacity and improves operations and connectivity to various residential, educational and employment destinations along one of Orange County's key north-south commuter and commercial corridors.
This is the first of two segments to be completed on SR-57. The south segment, which spans from Katella to Lincoln in Anaheim, is expected to be completed at the end of 2014.
The projects are funded by both state and local transportation funds, including Orange County's Measure M.
