From January 27 to 29, OCTA shared in celebrating the Year of the Rooster at the largest Tet Lunar New Year event outside of Vietnam.
Thousands of Vietnamese-Americans and other guests at the Fairgrounds and Event Center in Costa Mesa were greeted with the traditional Mua Lan lion dance, firecrackers, cultural exhibits and performances, and food and information. Those who traveled by OC Bus to the festivities received an admission discount.
OCTA information booths highlighted projects and services including the Little Saigon Shuttle, OC Streetcar, 64Xpress, Bravo 560 and the I-405 Improvement Project.
OCTA will continue its Lunar New Year celebration on February 4 with a kick-off event at the Irvine Metrolink station for L.A.’s famous Golden Dragon Parade. Free train tickets will be offered to the first 100 people (first come, first served).
