OCTA has partnered with the OC Health Care Agency on the “Your Route to Well-Being” campaign to promote healthier lifestyles, stress reduction and community connections by using OC Bus services. OCTA announced the program on October 10 to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
The program encourages individuals to integrate public transportation into their daily routines to enhance overall well-being.
“We want people to know that riding OC Bus is an opportunity to invest in your own personal health, physically and mentally,” said OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen. “Orange County is a rich and diverse community, and we want to help people discover public transit as a way to connect with the many people and resources within our community.”
The promotion features ads in English, Spanish and Vietnamese and encourages activities such as walking to the bus and meditating onboard.
As a program partner, the OC Health Care Agency has provided a custom version of OC Navigator, its online health and wellness tool, for OC Bus riders. The OC Navigator website includes resources for mental wellness, tips on happiness and gratitude, and mindfulness apps, among other resources.
OCTA also partnered with the meditation app, Happier, to offer riders a chance to reduce stress and enhance mental wellness. In addition to Happier subscription discounts, riders can enter for a chance to win a 30-day OC Bus pass and a free year of the Happier app.
