OCTA Hosts Free Event for Metrolink Riders on Their Way to Winter Wonderland

The Tustin Metrolink Station was a popular destination for travelers on their way to San Juan Capistrano on Saturday, Dec. 14 as approximately 300 people stopped by OCTA’s kickoff event for the mission town’s Winter Wonderland celebration. To encourage and promote train travel, OCTA held a special event full of fun, food and free Metrolink tickets for the first 50 attendees. Tickets were issued on a first-come, first-serve basis and were good for travel on Saturday only.

Among other benefits, traveling to San Juan Capistrano by train allows riders to avoid freeway congestion resulting from Caltrans’ I-5/Ortega Highway Interchange Improvement Project.

During the year, OCTA hosts similar events at different Metrolink stations in connection with popular activities such as the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration in Los Angeles, the Festival of Whales in Dana Point, and Swallows’ Day in San Juan Capistrano.
