OCTA Honored for OC Bridges Grade Separation Project

OCTA was chosen to receive a 2014 Project of the Year Award for the Kraemer Boulevard grade separation by the American Public Works Association (APWA) southern California chapter.

The Kraemer Boulevard project in Placentia is part of OC Bridges, a series of undercrossings and overcrossings that separate vehicular and train traffic to increase safety and decrease delays. During the project, the roadway was lowered by approximately 25 feet and temporary railroad tracks were built south of the current tracks. The new undercrossing opened to the public in June 2014. The OC Bridges Program is partially funded by Measure M, Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements.

APWA is the professional association of public works leaders from throughout the United States and Canada. In the southern California chapter there are 1,400 members from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Chapter awards recognize public agencies for outstanding projects and programs.
