On February 12, OCTA Directors Go, Nguyen, and Tettemer stopped by the Irvine Metrolink station to say hello to riders as part of Metrolink’s Customer Appreciation Day.
Metrolink service has been a popular transit alternative in Orange County since 1994, when the Orange County line began operation thanks to Measure M, Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. Approved by voters, Measure M helped pay for track improvements and capacity upgrades, funded station construction and improvements, and supported rail corridor infrastructure investments.
Metrolink supports a more sustainable and balanced transportation system by reducing vehicle miles traveled, lowering emissions, and providing a safe alternative to driving.
