To expand awareness of its bus program, OCTA is embarking on a grassroots program to engage new riders. The OC Street Teams, two upbeat groups charged with talking to target audiences, sharing OC Bus information, and researching travel habits, is headed in their small, cool, colorful vans to communities such as Hispanic and Vietnamese neighborhoods.
OC Street Teams will spark excitement about OC Bus and two new ways to get around, Bravo! Route 560 and Route 150. Debuting with the service change on June 12, Bravo! Route 560 will offer a faster ride from Santa Ana to Long Beach and beyond with connections to Metrolink, Amtrak and major bus routes. Route 150 will cover peak and midday weekday service on major portions of Routes 51 and 145.
The OC Street Teams will be in the communities served by the new lines at likely ridership locations such as schools, medical facilities, hospitality and employer sites, government and social service facilities, shopping and retail centers, and parks. While there, the team will educate people about how easy it is to travel on safe, clean, convenient OC Buses using three simple steps – plan, pay, and ride. In addition, bus ridership information in Spanish and Vietnamese is featured on the OCTA website.
