OC Fair Express Records 13,000-plus Boardings in First Three Weekends

The OC Fair Express continues to offer an inexpensive, car-free alternative to driving and parking at one of Orange County’s most popular summer venues.

In its third week, the service carried 5,227 riders – a 13% increase from the previous weekend. In total, 13,688 boardings have been recorded to date this season. Operation will continue on Saturdays and Sundays through August 17.

For only $2 each way, the OC Fair Express carries passengers from five locations throughout Orange County directly to the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, from approximately 10 a.m. to midnight every Saturday and Sunday during the fair.

Youth 18 and under, along with Community College Pass holders, can ride for free with no special pass required. Passengers can pay using the OC Bus mobile ticketing app or with exact change on board.

OC Fair Express has served Orange County riders since 2011, taking time off during the pandemic before returning in 2024, giving thousands of fairgoers a clean, reliable, and fun ride to the OC Fair. The service is part of OCTA’s efforts to reduce traffic congestion and promote sustainable transportation options across the region.
