Looking forward to free bus rides and fun fair swag, on July 14 the first riders of the season hopped aboard the buses at the OC Fair Express Kick Off event. OCTA kept the mood festive at the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Metrolink Station with a photo booth, prizes, and a visit from the Transit Police Service and their canine companions.
Jennifer Bergener, Chief Operating Officer for all OCTA transit operations, welcomed the crowd and praised the partners that help make the OC Fair Express such a success. “Thanks to a great partnership with the Orange County Fair, we are able to save riders money with a coupon for discounted fair admission,” said Bergener. “Another great partner is the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, also known as the MSRC. The MSRC provides funding that enables OCTA to operate the OC Fair Express and helps MSRC achieve their mission of reducing air pollution by taking cars off the road."
Now through Aug. 12, the OC Fair Express will offer non-stop service to non-stop fun Saturday and Sunday from nine convenient locations for only $2 each way, or 75 cents for seniors age 60 and up and people with disabilities. Purchase tickets on board or in advance with the OC Bus Mobile App. The Youth Summer Pass also works on the OC Fair Express. In addition, OC Fair Express riders receive a coupon for $4 OC Fair admission. With that $10 savings, a fun trip on the OC Fair Express pays for itself.
