With a record-setting 94,675 boardings during its five-week run, the OC Fair Express increased ridership by 20 percent this year compared to last. OCTA and the OC Fair have partnered for six years in a row to provide this important transportation service made possible through funding from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC).
For the third year, many OC Fair Express riders bought tickets using the convenient mobile ticketing app, which in October will be expanded to include fixed-route bus trips.
The OC Fair Express ended its annual service on August 14 after providing non-stop service from nine locations direct to the OC Fair for only $2 each way. After experiencing the ease of traveling in a comfortable air-conditioned bus, fair-goers return year after year to avoid the hassle of driving and parking.
