OC Bus Riders Share 1,500+ Expressions of Appreciation for Transit Employees

OCTA coach operators, maintenance and service workers provide safe, reliable transportation for Orange County. We honor and respect these professionals every day and celebrate them publicly on March 18, National Transit Employee Appreciation Day.

Using social media and email, we asked our OC Bus riders to thank their coach operators in person and leave messages of appreciation. They responded enthusiastically by contributing 1,543 comments and reactions.

Here are some of the responses:

“I appreciate that you all are there to take me home from work at the end of the day. I can't drive and your work is essential to me. Thank you.”

“Without the bus drivers, I wouldn’t be able to work towards my scholarship. Thank you all :) <3”

“For those drivers who talk and say ‘“Hi, hello, good afternoon, good morning,’" and so on, thank you! Makes me feel welcomed and less worried! I appreciate it!”

“Thank you for being a reliable transportation source for my kids and to OCTA for being there for me as a college student.”

“Thank you, OCTA drivers, for always being happy and respectful to me whenever I board the bus. You guys are G.O.A.T.S. (greatest of all time of the transportation industry).”
