New OC Flex Shuttle Makes Commuting Easier

Riding public transportation is easier than ever thanks to OC Flex, OCTA’s new on-demand shuttle service that picks you up and takes you where you want in two zones including parts of Huntington Beach/Westminster and Aliso Viejo/Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo. Unlimited daily rides are only $4.50 within each zone when reservations are made through the OC Flex mobile app.

In addition, OC Flex provides new options for commuters. OC Bus daily pass holders can ride OC Flex for free, and vice versa. This is great news for those who have considered riding OC Bus but have hesitated because they were unable to get to or from a bus stop conveniently. OC Flex eliminates this problem – just book your OC Flex ride to the nearest bus stop. With an OC Flex or OC Bus day pass, you get unlimited daily rides on OC Flex within each zone, plus unlimited rides throughout the entire OC Bus system. Win, win!

And good news for train travelers! With a valid Metrolink or Amtrak pass, you can ride free to or from a train station within the zone.

Now that OC Flex is part of the transit landscape, perhaps it’s time to rethink your commute. Ride OC Flex to your bus stop or train station in the morning and home again in the evening.

The service during the pilot program is primarily funded with a grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, which supports projects that take cars off the road and reduce air pollution.
