New Bus Route Added to Beat Traffic on Beach

If you’ve ever traveled Beach Boulevard between Fullerton and Huntington Beach, you know how busy the traffic can be. That’s the stretch that includes the Fullerton Park-and-Ride, Knott’s Berry Farm, the Golden West Transportation Center, and Golden West College.

Bravo! 529, a new bus route with more go and less stop, begins service February 11 to make it easier and faster for commuters and others to get to their destinations.

Compared to the regular Route 29 along Beach Boulevard, Bravo! 529 provides an average travel time savings of 10 minutes. The new route makes fewer stops – 13 stops compared to the typical 34 – and connects with 12 other major bus routes along the way.

This new bus service is part of OC Bus 360°, a strategy to better meet the needs of Orange County bus riders and enhance ridership.

This is the third Bravo! limited-stop route OCTA has launched since 2013.
