During May and June, OCTA conducted six open houses to share information about the I-405 Improvement Project, which will improve 16 miles of I-405 and add one regular lane in each direction from Euclid Street to I-605. It will also construct the 405 Express Lanes from SR-73 to I-605.
In total, more than 400 people attended open houses in the project area cities of Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Fountain Valley, Westminster, Costa Mesa and the community of Rossmoor. Presentations featured a project overview, question and answer sessions with more than a dozen project experts, and an introduction to tools expected to keep residents informed and on the move during construction, including construction, closure and detour details integrated into an interactive map and the Waze app.
Materials presented at the meetings are also available at the I-405 Improvement Project website.
