Metrolink’s new rewards program, SoCal Explorer, lets members earn points for every mile traveled on Metrolink and then redeem them for free tickets. Members will also receive offers from local business partners, including pick-up and al fresco dining experiences, outdoor activities and more. For a limited time, those who sign up will receive 750 free SoCal Explorer points—enough for a free round-trip ticket.
Other Metrolink travel discounts are available. On weekends, adults ride for $10 either Saturday or Sunday and kids 17 and under ride free. There’s also a 5-Day Flex Pass that provides the convenience of five one-day passes that can be used any time within 30 days. For travel inspiration, consider a Metrolink Daycation for a safe, excellent adventure that’s close to home but feels like a relaxing getaway. A day at the beach, for example, is still a treat during autumn in southern California, and destinations nearby Metrolink stations promise endless stretches of shoreline, historic piers, and whale watching adventures. Here are five favorite beach-worthy destinations to consider. The Metrolink Daycations website features many other ideas and discounts.
As always, Metrolink puts safety first. Trains are cleaned and disinfected daily using hospital-grade products and there are two hand sanitizer stations aboard each train car. Masks are required on all platforms and trains, and the “How Full is My Train?” app helps plan for social distancing.
