In February, CEO Darrell Johnson and OCTA staff hosted a group of senior government and transportation officials from Malaysia on a tour of the 91 Express Lanes. The tour provided an opportunity for the Malaysian officials to observe OCTA’s successful use of toll lanes and congestion management pricing.
During the meeting, the two groups exchanged experiences in managing toll facilities in their respective countries. The officials also toured the traffic operations center and the toll plaza in the median of State Route 91 (SR-91).
Many international visitors, including those from China, Israel, Korea, Japan, France, India and the United Kingdom have journeyed to Orange County to view the 91 Express Lanes. Throughout the world, the 91 Express Lanes is regarded as a model for managed lanes.
