OCTA, in partnership with Caltrans, is proposing an improvement project to reduce congestion and improve mobility, increase freeway capacity and improve traffic operations on State Route 55 (SR-55) between Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Route 91 (SR-91).
OCTA is hosting a meeting to inform the public about the project on Thursday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grijalva Park Sports Center, 368 N. Prospect Ave., Orange.
The project is in the preliminary engineering and environmental review phase. During this phase, the project team identifies potential environmental impacts of the project and ways to avoid or significantly reduce those impacts. The team also studies project benefits and costs.
The project is part of Measure M (also known as OC Go), Orange County’s voter-approved transportation investment plan that puts tax dollars to work locally. The environmental review phase began in late 2016 and is expected to be completed in early 2020.
The meeting is an opportunity to inform businesses, residents and local organizations about the project and the environmental process. Informational exhibits will be on display, and project staff members will be available to answer questions.
