Keeping Costa Mesa Residents Informed about 405 Bridge Work

As part of the I-405 Improvement Project, OCTA is reconstructing 18 bridges as it adds a general purpose lane and a tolled Express Lane in each direction along the 16-mile project from SR-73 to I-605.

OCTA uses a variety of outreach tactics to keep residents informed about the construction, including neighborhood meetings. Last month, two meetings in Costa Mesa near the Fairview bridge together attracted more than 130 people.

Fairview is the next bridge to be reconstructed. Crews are planning a traffic shift in the coming weeks, weather permitting, to create a work zone for partial demolition, anticipated in late February or early March. The Fairview Road bridge will be partially closed for up to 24 months.

Sign up for weekly construction alerts by visiting here and selecting the “Stay Informed” tab. Keep up to date with an interactive map of construction activity, closures and detours. In addition, OCTA has partnered with Waze to provide the same information through its navigation app.
