Improved Bus Routes Match Service to Demand

As part of the February OC Bus service change, OCTA modified four routes to better serve the needs of Orange County. The changes are effective February 9 and reflect OCTA’s ongoing effort to improve bus service and increase the efficiency of transit throughout the county by better matching service to rider demands.

New Route 123 replaces Routes 21 and 24 from Anaheim to Huntington Beach. With new and better connections to Cal State Fullerton, Fullerton, Cypress, and Golden West colleges, and Hope International University, it’s a great choice for those who study, teach, and work at these schools.  Riders can connect with transit at the Anaheim Canyon or Buena Park Metrolink stations or the Goldenwest Transportation Center while OC Bus drives.

Route 56 between Garden Grove and Orange now offers weekend service that comes almost twice as often, so trips to MainPlace Mall, Discovery Cube and CHOC and St. Joseph’s Hospital are more convenient than ever. It’s a smart car-free alternative for shoppers and commuters who hold down weekend shifts at area hospitals.

Weekend service on Route 72 between Sunset Beach and Tustin has also been increased, so trips to The District and Mile Square Park are faster than ever. Consider Route 72 for shopping, entertainment and outdoor fun as well as better commute times to weekend shifts at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.

With more frequent weekday service, Route 143 between La Habra and Brea is a better-than-ever travel alternative for trips to Fullerton College, Brea Mall, and St. Jude Hospital. Students and commuters can connect with transit at the Fullerton Transportation Center.
