I-405 Improvement Project Honored by ASCE

OCTA’s I-405 Improvement Project was recently recognized as the Outstanding Transportation Project by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Region 9, representing the entire state of California.

This prestigious award highlights the innovation, engineering excellence, and collaboration that defined the I-405 Improvement Project – the largest highway improvement in OCTA’s history.

ASCE Region 9 supports civil engineers across California through advocacy, professional development, and technical innovation. It promotes infrastructure sustainability, safety, and resilience while fostering connections between public policy and engineering practice.

Enhanced Anaheim Transit Connections Part of OC Bus Service Improvements

As part of the regular OC Bus Service Improvements that began May 11, OCTA is extending OC Bus Rapid Route 553 from ARTIC to the Anaheim Resort District to enhance transit connections for employees and visitors.

This expansion reinforces OCTA’s commitment to connecting the county’s largest employment centers, reducing congestion and improving access to one of Orange County’s most popular destinations.

More than 1,100 Disney employees live along this route, and this limited-stop bus service will offer them a faster, more convenient way to get to work.

In addition to the extension of OC Bus Rapid Route 553, the service improvements include schedule adjustments to better serve summer beach traffic and minor schedule changes to reduce wait times. Learn more here.
