Whale and Dolphin Watching
How does a day at the beach sound? Ride Routes 1, 85, 90, 91 or 187 to Dana Point Harbor or Route 71 to Balboa Beach. Each destination features sandy beaches, restaurants, shops and water activities. It's a great time of year to go whale watching, and you can even receive a discount with your valid OCTA Bus Pass.
Day at the Zoo
The Santa Ana Zoo features hundreds of animals, a maze and more. On March 1 and 2, the zoo is celebrating its birthday with miniature train displays, music, games and more. Even better, OCTA bus riders can receive discounted admission.
Mariachis at the Mission
There will be live mariachi music at the Mission on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10:00 a.m. On Saturdays, other activities include panning for gold, adobe brick making, guided tours and koi fish feeding. Routes 91 and 191 serve the area. While in the historic downtown area, take some time to explore the shops, visit the petting zoo and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants.
Egg Drop Competition
The Discovery Science Center's annual egg drop competition is set for February 22. During this popular event, kids and adults will be invited to design and build a device that will protect an egg from breaking as it falls from various heights. Routes 53 and 83 serve the museum, and visitors can even get discounted admission with a valid OCTA Bus Pass!
