OCTA's newest tool, Text4Alerts, sends text messages to subscribers when there is a detour, schedule change or other event impacting a specific route. It's the easiest way to stay informed while on-the-go.
Along with Text4Next, OCTA’s mobile messaging for bus arrival times, Text4Alerts allows bus riders to adjust their schedules and expectations based on real-time information. In addition, such interactive programs may reduce OCTA’s operating costs because passengers who receive information by text may be less likely to call OCTA’s customer support center.
Signing up is easy. Simply subscribe from your mobile device or visit the "Text" tab on the Get Connected page. Select the routes that you want to stay informed about, and when something impacts any one of those routes, you will receive a text message.
Text4Alerts is free and available via mobile phone and on OCTA’s website at octa.net/getconnected. Standard message and data rates apply.
