During the summer, Orange County’s popular beach communities are packed with intriguing possibilities, but traffic and parking hassles can make the journey seem like too much trouble. Free summer shuttles in Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, and Dana Point put the beach within reach.
Many shuttles connect to each other and to transit and Metrolink stops, making it easier to travel to great destinations without a car. These transportation services are partially funded by Measure M (also known as OC Go), which puts tax dollars to work locally.
Both the San Capistrano and San Clemente trolleys stop at their respective Metrolink stations, making it simple for those who journey by train to extend their trips and enjoy more of what Orange County has to offer.
Now in its second year of operation, the San Clemente Trolley does a brisk business transporting happy travelers to great destinations like the San Clemente Pier and the Outlets at San Clemente.
Along with stops at local attractions through the city's downtown and Mission San Juan Capistrano, the San Juan Capistrano Trolley connects to the Dana Point Trolley Service.
With additional trolley stops along its expanded routes, the Dana Point Trolley lets riders visit even more of Dana Point's attractions, entertainment, shopping, dining, beaches, and parks. It also connects with the Laguna Beach and San Juan Capistrano trolleys.
The Laguna Beach Summer Breeze, also known as OC Bus Route 689, offers a free ride from the Laguna Canyon Road parking lot in Irvine to the beach. This summer weekend service takes riders to destinations such the Sawdust Art Festival, Laguna Art-A-Fair, Pageant of the Masters, and Laguna Beach Bus Station.
These are just a few of free transportation options to help you enjoy a beautiful OC summer. Check them out here and start planning your weekend exploration before summer ends!
