California Clean Air Day is a statewide event dedicated to raising awareness about air quality and inspiring action to improve it.
In support of Clean Air Day and a greener Orange County, on October 2 OCTA is offering free rides on its 55 fixed route buses to help reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas.
Clean air is a priority for OCTA. For example, the OC Bus fleet runs on clean, renewable energy now and is headed toward a 100 percent zero-emission future. OCTA has invested in both plug-in battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell electric buses as part of a pilot program to determine which technology - or mix of technologies - will help bring even cleaner air quality to Orange County. In addition, OCTA’s innovative Community College Pass Program removes cars from roads, reduces congestion and provides an equitable transportation solution.
These are just a few of the ways OCTA maintains a culture of sustainability to safeguard the air, land, water and community. Learn more about OCTA environmental sustainability efforts and accomplishments here.
