During August, kids ride free to 14 home games on the Angels Express
For Jeff Pallone’s family, snapping a picture on the Angels Express was a natural way to document what the Lake Forest residents often do in the summer – pack up the kids and ride the train to ball game.
“We love taking the Angels Express,” said Pallone, a winner in the Angels Express photo contest. “For the kids, it doesn't get any better than a train ride and a ball game. The conductors are usually in really good spirits as well and often tell the kids jokes or share a high-five. Parents get to save money on parking and avoid the headache of navigating SoCal freeways during rush hour. It’s a win-win.”
Huge baseball fans, the Pallones board the train in Irvine and ride to the ARTIC station next to the Angel Stadium parking lot. Family kids onboard often include Joey, 10, MiaBella, 7, and cousin Kyler, 4.
“We ride the Angels Express almost exclusively in the summer thanks to the great value Metrolink provides,” said Pallone, “When the kids ride free in July and August, I save money on the game before we even leave the house because it’s $10 for general parking and the adult train ticket is only $7.”
During August, kids 18 and under ride free to all 14 Angels weeknight home games. Find out more here.
