As part of its continuing efforts to use zero-emission transportation technology for a balanced and sustainable transit future, OCTA built and is operating the largest transit-operated hydrogen fueling station in the nation at its Santa Ana bus base.
Members of the Department of Energy (DOE), led by U.S. Under Secretary of Infrastructure David Crane, recently toured the station and rode one of OCTA’s battery electric fuel-cell buses round trip to Ontario.
OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen, OCTA Directors Patrick Harper and Fred Jung, OCTA Deputy CEO Jennifer Bergener and other members of the OCTA executive team joined the tour, which was led by OCTA Director of Maintenance Cliff Thorne.
