Each year, OCTA launches changes in February, June and October that adjust and improve OC Bus service. These revisions are part of OC Bus 360°, an initiative that looks at improving the bus system from all angles.
Beginning Feb. 14, 2016, OCTA will speed up service by offering a new express route and two routes with reduced stops.
Operating from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Route 64Xpress is a new, faster option on Route 64 for weekday travel between Westminster Mall and Larwin Square. The 64Xpress provides a quicker ride down Bolsa Avenue and First Street because there are fewer stops. Local Route 64 will continue to serve all stops along the route.
The newly created Bus Stop Spacing Efficiency Program, one of many efforts to speed up service, will begin as a pilot program on Routes 63 and 64.
Additional schedule and route alignment changes will also be made to provide additional customer service. An overview of all the February bus service change improvements is available here.
