Bus Riders Share Travel Tales during Dump the Pump Week

During National Dump the Pump Week in June, people all over the country jumped aboard public transportation to help conserve resources, clean the air, and take cars off the road.

In Orange County, OCTA reached out to new and existing bus riders and encouraged them to share pictures and stories for an opportunity to win prizes.

Their responses demonstrated how versatile bus travel can be:

“We took the bus to visit the Santa Ana Public Library! My toddlers love to read and ride the bus thus we go to the library at least 3 times a week. They have a blast!”

“On Wednesday for my daily work out, with the sufficient help of the OCTA system, I went to Sunset Beach. In order to arrive, I took Route 64, to 21, and finally 1. I had a blast at the beach after my morning run and all thanks to the transportation from OCTA!”

“I always take OCTA bus anywhere I go. Even if I have my bike with me, no problem! It's very convenient :)”

Shared on Facebook and other social media, these comments and accompanying pictures provided a glimpse of how Orange County riders use the bus service for all kinds of reasons and encouraged others to do the same.
