OCTA hosted a customer roundtable on Feb. 24 to receive input from transit riders about bus service changes and digital technology enhancements.
Roundtable attendees voiced appreciation for the rider alerts delivered via flyer and octa.net regarding recent service changes on Routes 29A, 57, 543, and 43.
Another topic of interest was OCTA’s new transit apps with real-time bus information. OCTA provides bus location information to third-party mobile app developers so they can deliver more timely and accurate information to OCTA customers. Bus riders can easily find real-time bus locations and predicted bus stop arrival times by downloading free, popular apps like Transit and Moovit. Both apps receive updated vehicle position information every few minutes from OCTA. These transit tools for the web and mobile devices are available for download from the OCTA website.
In addition to the feedback provided by customer roundtables, OCTA uses multiple data tools to evaluate bus service, such as tracking on-time performance and the number of passengers that ride each route on a daily, weekly, and monthly.
