With amazing weather year-round and more than 1,000 miles of bikeways, Orange County is a fantastic place to cycle for work and play. The bikeways network has something for everyone including paved and off-street trails, on-street striped bike lanes and bicycle-friendly routes through vibrant cities and along our beautiful coast.
With all that going for us in OC, we have plenty to celebrate during National Bike Month in May.
Along with nearly 5,000 of our closest friends, we kicked things off in Huntington Beach at the end of April at our annual Bike Festival. OCTA Director Jim Katapodis, also mayor of Huntington Beach, welcomed the happy crowd to a day filled with bikes, beach, sun, fun, a vendor village and a BMX stunt show.
Coming up on May 12 is our annual Bike Rally, a fun ride from the Orange Metrolink Station to OCTA headquarters via Old Towne Orange and Santiago Creek Trail. We’ll see you bright and early at 7:30 a.m. and the event will end at 8:45 a.m. In addition to companionship and great exercise, you’ll get a cool Bike Month T-shirt. All riders will be entered into our post-rally raffle.
We’ve got lots more ways to celebrate on our website. That’s also where you can pledge to ride during Bike Month to win more prizes and a new iPad.
Ready? Get rolling!
