A record-breaking 27 buses were filled with new toys at the Honda Center on Friday, Dec. 19 as part of the 22nd Annual Stuff-A-Bus event. From 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., donations poured in from businesses and residents to make this the most successful year yet. In 2013, 17 buses and one flatbed truck were filled with toys, sporting equipment and bicycles.
The event supports the Spark of Love toy drive and is sponsored by OCTA, ABC7, Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks. The toys will be distributed among local organizations, helping to brighten the holiday season for many children.
The Spark of Love program has collected more than 7.5 million toys for children over the past two decades. Firefighters from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties have supported the Spark of Love toy drive for more than 20 years.
