The Angels Express made its final run Sep. 24 when it transported baseball fans to and from Angel Stadium in Anaheim for the 48th time this year, bringing its season-long total to 34,200 boardings.
The Metrolink train provided round-trip service to all Angels weekday home games beginning at 7:05 p.m. from as far away as Los Angeles and Oceanside. Angels Express service was also offered from Riverside for every Friday night game.
This was the third year the popular Angels Express provided fans with the opportunity to leave traffic and parking issues behind and relax in comfort to and from the stadium.
Riders enjoyed special prices – only $7 round-trip, $6 for senior/disabled, $4 for youth (ages 6 – 18), and free for children 5 and under with a paying adult (up to 3 children).
The Angels Express is a partnership of OCTA and Metrolink in cooperation with the Riverside County Transportation Commission, LA Metro and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC), which provides funding to projects that remove vehicles from the roadways resulting in reduced emissions.
